Calderbank Committees January Update

It is the start of a brand new year and our committees all met today to discuss their agendas for the forthcoming month.

The Enterprise Committee led by Miss McGinty are planning on conducting a survey around the school to allow the pupils to vote on what they would like to spend the money raised from our Christmas show and Christmas crafts. Some great suggestions already for literacy and maths games, as well as toys that can be used during Golden time.

The Eco Committee led by Mrs. McCafferty are looking at how we can reduce the

use of plastic bottles in school. The committee looked at the impact plastic bottles have on the ocean. The children have agreed that they will design posters to persuade children in the school to use the water bottles provided by the school, rather than buying and using plastic bottles each day.

The Pupil Council led by Mrs. Wilson led a discussion around what they would like to do to improve the school. The pupils suggested that they would like some new equipment to play with indoors and outdoors and suggested that games such as snakes and ladders or twister could be painted out in the playground.
